This is why there hasn't been much in the way of posts for the last few days. Unfortunately, this is not my aeroplane but it's taking up my time as the subject of my next article for Flying In Ireland.
This particluar aircraft is being built by an electronic engineer in Clare and is very close to completion. It's a Europa and is a two seat kit-built aircraft that uses modern materials and clever design to produce a really smart and fun flying machine. It can be flown at over 200 kM/h (140 mph) and at a more sedate pace will give 17kM/L (50 mpg). Beats crawling across the country at 50 kM/h The wings can be removed in minutes to store the whole aircraft in an average garage. You do have to build it yourself but really, that's just a minor detail.
Guess what I want for my birthday? Donations welcomed!
